As a New York journalist I’ve seen the world – now, as a lawyer, I see my PC and courtrooms most of the day. It is not as exciting or glamorous, which is my reason for starting Wanderlust Women Travel and Wanderlust Weddings and Honeymoons. Well, that’s actually one reason, the other major reason is to share my passion for visiting Italy and destinations unknown and tips for traveling this great planet.
For some reason, the powers that be in the travel industry are compelled to penalize the solo traveler by charging them nearly double for packages simply because they are smart enough not to drag a boring partner along for the ride. Don’t they realize that the solo traveler is likely to spend more on extravagant indulgences and luxury travel than those traveling two by two? It’s a fact that I always spend more on me, don’t you?
Wanderlust Women Travel is geared toward the truly independent traveler, women with wanderlust, solo travelers who are not scared to take a chance; dare to dream; relish excitement; cherish time alone and excited to meet new people. I hope to share my varied experiences, discoveries and tips and invite you to comment about yours as well.
I also hope Wanderlust Women Travel becomes your go-to site whether traveling solo or booking your trip two-by-two. I can help ease your travel concerns and customize an itinerary just for you. As a travel consultant, Italy is my specialty. Just think of me as your Italy travel concierge. As an Italian-American, it is in my DNA and I have been there dozens of times. From Tuscany to Amalfi, I can help design the holiday or honeymoon of your dreams with access to numerous local contacts. Please visit our Travel reservation page and our road-trip Map a Deal………or email me if you would like to book your custom trip to Italy, London, New York or elsewhere, and I will be happy to assist you.

Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I just saw one of your posts/blogs connected to My Bella Vita and saw your address in Mamaroneck. My husband grew up there so I had to stop by here and say Hi. We love Italy and visit every May. This year we visited two of the villages our families are from: San Bartolomeo in Galdo and Altripalda as well as Napoli where my grandmother was born. A very cool trip!!
Ciao,
Bonnie
Hi Bonnie,

Hey, I work with the CheapOair travel blog (cheapoair.wordpress.com) and we’re interested in having you guest blog for us. Please contact me if you’re interested. Thanks! Aldo.
Ciao Monica e grazie for your comment.
Sure, I would be be happy to add another wanderlust woman to the rank and file. Welcome aboard and happy travels.
Hi Lisa,
I started my travel blog for the exact same reason. Being cooped up in four walls isn’t really for me. I’ve subscribed to your RSS and I can’t wait to hear what’s in store for the future.
By the way, would you be interested in a link exchange? I’ve already added you to my blogroll.
Happy Travelings!
Monica
Ciao, my fellow nomadic gnome,
I have never been in a camper. As a friend of mine says, if I wanted to vacation outdoors, I’ll open the doors of my hotel terrace and walk out. LOL
I have never stayed in a hostel and don’t think I want to start now. The Saturday Splurge feature here is more my style. Do you have your own blog or are you just on Twitter?
Travel safe.
Hello Lisa,
Your blog is very beautiful and fun to read! As it happens, I am a women that travels alone, and I like it! Right now I’m camping on the Russian River in California, and I just wrote a blog post about the camper the folks next to me have, which I linked to my name. One idea for you? Have you written about youth hostels? I’ve stayed in Europe at quite a few, and it’s one way of single travel that is economical and fun. Next weekend I’m going to stay at the youth hostel in San Francisco.
Happy travels!

Leyla, what a nice comment. Thank you so much for wandering by. Dakar, wow, what an exotic destination. You go, girl. Ciao, Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I’ve just discovered your blog – and will subscribe to your RSS. I can’t believe I hadn’t seen it before… it’s excellent! Great critiques, honest assessments, good writing and true wanderlust.
My path isn’t that different from yours – I have a website for independent women travelers on a budget (www.women-on-the-road.com) and I too work within four walls these days… but the site keeps the memories alive and once in awhile (like right now, as I’m typing this from the beachside in Dakar) they still let me out…
All the best! Leyla
