Summer goes out with a blaze of color with London’s summer bank holiday weekend.  From Notting Hill to Oxford for a London escape there will be plenty to do for your three-day mini-break.

Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival is a 50+ year annual celebration of Caribbean culture.  London’s biggest street party will be both Sunday and Monday with special events for the kiddies and the closing parade on Monday.  Getting around will be tough. Expect street closures and take the Tube.

London Foodie FestThe roving Foodies Fest winds it’s way up to Oxford from Saturday through Monday.  Celebrity chefs, live music and pop-up restaurants will have you tasting everything from sweets to treats and plenty of booze to cruise from tent to tent.

At the always popular Riverside Southbank, there is the three-day Live & Dine Summerfest, Friday through Sunday.  Tickets run between £5-30.

Just check the weather before headin’ out.  Stormy days are expected to make much of the weekend a washout. So put on your big girl galoshes and deal!
