I recently returned from an extended stay in Europe promoting my memoir, “Amalfi Blue, lost & found in the South of Italy.” While I enjoy my time abroad, it is my time there that makes me even happier to be an American…also glad to be home to celebrate the July 4th holiday weekend.
The diverse cultures which make America unique and a more accepting society are often what divide others. So, while we may not be perfect, we are perfectly fantastic in our diversity.
In planning your July 4th getaways, did you know that there are so many places to celebrate our American pride. There are 12 cities named Independence; 20 towns named Freedom; and more places named Liberty than I can possibly list here. They run the gamut from New York escapes to Texas getaways.
So, this July 4th holiday, enjoy the fireworks and remember why we celebrate our independence.
