It’s about 90° in New York (30° in Sorrento-speak).
The sun is out and it’s a glorious day……..but I’ve been stuck inside without a window. That does not make me happy and I tend to wander quickly. Today, my mind dropped over to Sorrento, where solo women with wanderlust can always find the perfect place to dream!
If you’ve been following this site long enough then you know my infatuation with the Sorrentine Peninsula knows no limits.
Sunny days are just perfect for a boat ride to the islands of Capri or Procida. (check next Tuesday for an article on this most romantic spot!)
Here, it is so easy to see how poet Pablo Neruda fell in love with Capri during his exile in 1952. Love and lemons – how can you go wrong? For without the bitter you could not appreciate the sweetness of Sorrento.
“Out of lemon flowers loosed on the moonlight, love’s lashed and insatiable essences sodden with fragrances. . .” (A Lemon – P.Neruda)
So, here’s wishing you all a limoncello kind of day!

I would give anything from a Limoncello right now! Both because I’m in a part of the world that has no lemons, and because it’s hot, hot, hot. I need something refreshing! Just loved this post. It was like a breath of fresh air!

I’ll join you in a glass, cin-cin!
