Wisteria Wednesday has this solo traveler wistful for Sorrento and Italy’s Amalfi Coast

Wisteria winds its way to the bay in Furore.

I was feeling wistful for  Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast today,
so I thought I would let you peak inside my solo daydreams where wisteria fills me at once with both hope and nostalgia.

Look inside………carefully……….can’t you just feel the sea breeze off the Bay of Naples as the heady scent of flowers carries you to paradise?

Under a canopy of dangling wisteria
The gentle waves echo the beat of your heart.
This heady aroma blankets me in euphoria,
For it’s perfection this place imparts.

You made me fall in love with you.
Now it is only you I see between these petals
Only you amid the purple and blue,
Only you and at once this bliss settles.

And I am home!

Love your poem! There is nothing like the wisteria on the Coast. Positano’s wisteria was over long ago but to have that heady sweet mingles with that of the orange blossom was divine. Did you see my post on it?

  4. Ciao Lisa! What beautiful words and photos! You have me longing for the wisteria days of early spring on the Amalfi Coast. Already the petals are falling, and the wait until next year seems eternal. Why is it that time passes so fast in moments so beautiful?
