The Fairmont Chateau on Canada’s beautiful Lake Louise is said to be one of the best hotels in the world. Located amid the snow-covered Canadian Rockies, the wilderness is right outside of your five-star door.
The Fairmont was built at the turn of the last century in 1890 but offers every modern amenity and all of the resort facilities you would expect of a luxury resort such as: hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, fly fishing, horseback riding, skiing, hot air ballooning, canyon ice walks……and if you wait until it snows, you can take a horse-drawn sleigh ride under the stars. Okay, so that would require you to forego the solo travel but wanderlust women can make sacrifices, right? Of course, there is a fitness center and spa. So, enjoy, eh!

Madeline, grazie for stopping by. I have never been to the Fairmont either but have heard great things about Lake Louise. Luxury is what the Saturday Splurge feature is all about.
BTW – stopped by your blog….what a beautiful photo of the Dolomites. Did you take it? Ciao.
ahhh yes, good memories of Lake Louise! I’ve never stayed there but have been many times to skate on the lake, take the hayrides, have a drink at the bar and enjoy the gorgeous view, or walk the path around the lake in the summertime. Same deal at the Banff Springs hotel….
