Wanderlust Woman bestowed with the Honest Scrap Award

I started my day with a trip down the virtual red carpet to receive the “Honest Scrap Award” from a new, good friend, Laura at Ciao Amalfi.  I have to admit I had seen the award posted on several other blogs in cyberspace but didn’t really know what it meant; afterall, anything with the word scrap in it couldn’t be too good, right?

Well, it turns out it’s an honor with some strings attached.  It’s sort of like a blog chain letter:

upon receiving it, you must brag about it in a post; you must then tag a fellow blogger and you in turn are forced to bare 10 honest secrets about yourself;  and finally, you must list at least five other blogs for which you think their content and/or design is brilliant.

Grazie, Laura.  Now I don’t have to do the research.  However, now you really want me to think first thing in the morning ?  Really?  I am a night owl.  OK, tell you what I’ll do…. I’ll wake up, have breakfast, go to the office & see how much I feel like baring my soul to the world.  LOL  I’ll get back to you!

Honest Scrap Award

So, I ventured around cyberspace to “honestly” rip-off the image (share and share alike);  Afterall, it is a chain honor, right?   I figured I would try to honestly reveal some travel secrets about myself because this is a travel blog and I like themes:

1.  I am a girly girl so spoil me with luxury on a vacation

2.  I don’t like swimming with the fishes – literally and figuratively; although, playing with the dolphins off the side of a boat is very cool.

3.  If I had to pick only one, I would be hard-pressed to select – planting an Italian jasmine vine or an American lilac bush outside my window.

4.  Hottest person I have ever met on holiday has to be Robert Plant at Brown’s in London.  You can’t get much cooler than that!

5. Fantasy destination?  Space, seriously………or Petra.

6. Most galactic travel memory is still seeing the aurora borealis as a kid.  It was like ghosts dancing in the sky.

7.  I always take chances on vacation which I never would at home.

8.  I hate summer days in NYC – the smell is awful (especially 47th St. off Vanderbilt Avenue) and tourists multiply like roaches.  But I love summer nights – the outdoor dining, the rooftop cafes, walking through the Village or on the West Side.

9.  I wish I could combine the beauty and serenity of the Amalfi region with the white sands of the east coast Atlantic Ocean.

10.  My practical doppelganger blogs as Lady Litigator

Now, here’s the tough part of the award, listing at least five blogs whose content and/or design I find brilliant.  These five honorees are brilliant in their own right.  Enjoy:

1.  Ciao Amalfi – back at ya, Laura.  Now you’re a repeat offender.

2.  Solo Road Trip – Tammie is an AMAZINGLY AWESOME photographer with a lot of spirit

3.  Bleeding Espresso – Michelle has that quirky sense of humor which shows in her writing

4.  Becoming Italian Word by Word – humorous take on the language rich in variants from the author of “La Bella Lingua,” Dianne Hales

5.  Bell’Avventura – Scintilla’s delicious and colorful photos enhance her design.  She’s won this award before & is also a repeat offender!

  1. Ciao! Thanks for sharing the love! I enjoyed reading your list. I’ve never met anyone famous while traveling. How cool! I don’t know about making another list, but I can honestly say at this moment that I love writing with my purring, fluffy orange cat sleeping on my lap. He’s so sweet! :-)

  2. Jenny – Grazie. Awards are always nice, especially when a niece or nephew tells you you’re the best aunt in the whole world :)

Scintilla, Prego. but I think after our first acceptance speech we can get away with re-posting the Scrap award again! I hope to get to your Aussie beaches one day. ;)

  3. Scintilla says:

Thank you, does this mean I have to do it all over again? I was becoming lazy in blogging ! I’m with you on number nine. I miss the Australian beaches.

  4. Jenny says:

I was never big on blog awards. I’ve gotten one or two, but I never posted them. Maybe I should start. Grats on getting one though :)

  5. Michelle, prego

Anne, thanks for being such an active visitor

  6. anne says:

Wow congratulations, Laura is great, and I love her blog. I was award this too, my Scintilla from http://bellavventura.blogspot.com/, have yet to post about it, trying to think of 10 honest facts about me, which is very hard, but I have thanked her for it..so great. :-)

  7. Aw thanks so much! And I love your honesty :)

  8. Buona sera, As I told Scintilla, repeat offenders don’t have to re-list 10 more “honest” things about themselves. How much honesty can we share out here? ROFL
